Meet Kesha! Kesha is a beautiful 1-year-old Pit Bull with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This sweet girl has made incredible progress during her time at the shelter and is now looking for an experienced adopter who will continue helping her build confidence and feel comfortable in the world around her. When Kesha first arrived, she was a little overwhelmed by new experiences, but she has shown just how much she can grow with patience and support. She absolutely loves people and is often eager to greet them, happily seeking attention and wanting to be close to her humans. She has a high affinity for treats, which makes her a great candidate for positive reinforcement training and continued confidence building. Kesha is still learning that new things aren't scary. She may need slow, gentle introductions to new people, environments, and handling. She can be sensitive to leash pressure and unfamiliar touch, but she continues to improve and will often relax, lean into her handlers, and enjoy affection once she feels safe. Allowing her to approach at her own pace and respecting her comfort level will help her continue to thrive. This energetic girl loves being active outdoors and will enjoy a home that provides regular exercise, playtime, enrichment, and opportunities to relax. She can get excited and may jump up or offer some soft mouthing, so continued training and structure will help her learn appropriate ways to show her enthusiasm. Kesha can be nervous around other dogs, especially larger or more forward dogs. She has shown that she can interact appropriately with calm canine companions, but she will need a home that respects her boundaries and focuses on calm coexistence rather than forcing interactions. If there is another dog in the home, a slow, carefully managed introduction is required to ensure a good match. Because of her sensitive nature and her need for continued confidence building, Kesha would do best in an experienced home without young children.
