Hi everyone, I’m Winney! I’m a 13-year-old, 14-lb Terrier mix looking for someone to give this senior girl a little love and a miracle. I came to PAWS after my owner passed away, and I was left in the home for months before someone stepped in to help. I had been living with Brosnan, but we’ve learned that we can be adopted separately. I’m sweet, silly, and I absolutely love a good belly rub! I enjoy exploring and going for walks, too. I’m crate trained and currently working on my house training after being left alone for so long. One thing that makes me special is that I’m completely blind, or at least my foster believes I am. But honestly, I don’t let it slow me down! Somehow I manage to find my way into all sorts of places, and my foster sometimes has to stop and wonder, “How did you even get there?” I’m also working on getting back to a healthy weight. I have beautiful hair and will be even more adorable after I’m able to get a nice bath and trim. My ears needed quite a bit of medical attention when I first arrived, so grooming had to wait. I’m just a sweet senior girl looking for a quiet, loving place to spend my golden years.

Call your veterinarian and provide your permission for PAWS to discuss your petsâ medical history. If you rent your residence, PAWS verifies that your landlord permits the breed of dog in question. Notifying your landlord and/or veterinarian ahead of time can speed up the application review process! A PAWS volunteer reviews your application to ensure that all other dogs in the household are up-to-date on their vaccinations (DHPP, lepto, rabies, bordetella) and are spayed/neutered. Additionally, they verify that any cats in the home are current on their rabies vaccination. 4. MEET & GREET. Upon application approval, the dogâs foster parent contacts you to set up a meet and greet in a neutral location (like a pet store or park). 5. HOME VISIT. The foster parent, dog, and another PAWS volunteer meet you in your home for a home visit. Here, the volunteers observe the dog to make sure itâs a good fit. All household members and pets must be present at this visit. 6. ADOPT! If everyone agrees that this is a perfect match, adoption is the final step! You meet in a neutral location, sign the adoption contract, pay the $300 adoption fee, and take ownership of your new dog!
