In the shelter’s words

7/16/2026Missy II is an owner surrender looking for a new home.Hi! My name is Missy II! I am a beautiful 4 year old flashy fawn girl that is an owner surrender due to my owner no longer being able to care for me. I am bonded with my companion, Chance III, so we are needing to be adopted together which means double the Boxer love and fun for you! I am described as active, smart, noisy, playful, and affectionate! I am territorial at the fence line with other dogs but get along great with my companion, Chance! It is said that I am not cat friendly and due to me being rambunctious, I would do best with older kids. I am house trained, know basic commands, and at night I sleep on the dog bed in the living room with Chance. I am not crate trained and would need assistance with that if it is required in my forever home. If the humans must be away I am fine and have Chance to keep me company. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. I am not fearful of anything and my most favorite thing in the world is my companion Chance! If you think Chance and I would make a great addition to your home, contact the rescue today and give them our names because we are waiting to meet you!

Plan a visit with the source organization

The Process to adopt a dog through Austin Boxer Rescue is as follows: Fill out an Online Adoption Application below. Your application will be reviewed and sent to a volunteer in your area. The volunteer will contact you to schedule a home visit within one week. Normally, a volunteer would come to your house for a home visit, but until further notice, visits are being done virtually. After your home visit is complete and you are approved you can begin meeting dogs. The Adoption Coordinator will assist you in this process. Please note: The application process begins immediately once an application is submitted and approvals tend to occur quickly. Please do not submit an application unless you are ready to take home a dog. ABR does not have the space or capability to hold dogs, therefore, dogs are adopted out on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you are not able to proceed with a home visit when contacted by an ABR volunteer then your application will be filed away. We will ask you to resubmit your application if you wish to adopt later date. Every dog adopted will have the following: Current on vaccinations and dewormed Spayed or neutered Will be micro chipped Will be treated for heartworms and/or on heartworm prevention Any additional medical problems will be treated and paid for by the rescue.
