In the shelter’s words
Meet Barley: Your Built-In Adventure Buddy! Looking for a dog who treats every day like an outdoor adventure? Barley is ready to lace up his (imaginary) sneakers and go! This 4-year-old, 50 lb mix is athletic, joyful, and always down for the next fun plan. Barley is a happy-go-lucky guy who LOVES people and does great with other dogs. He’s smart, eager to please, and thrives when he has both mental and physical stimulation—training is fun for him, especially when it’s paired with regular exercise. Jogging partner? Hiking pal? Backyard zoomie champion? His ideal home is an active, cat-free household that wants a dog who’s truly part of the action. In return, Barley promises endless affection, goofy happy dances, and a lifetime of loyalty. The Barley Breakdown: Age: 4 years Weight: 50 lbs Temperament: Friendly with all people, great with dogs, non-reactive at sight of cats Vetting: Fully vetted, heartworm negative, and neutered If you’re searching for a dog who will keep up with your lifestyle and steal your heart, Barley is ready to meet you. Apply today and let the adventures begin! *** To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself.
