In the shelter’s words
Meet Valentino! He is a very happy, friendly with all, 2 yr old tripod male Great Pyrenees. Named Valentino because of the heart on his head, but turns out it perfectly matches his personality. Shortly after coming into SPIN Rescue, it was discovered that he had an infection that had spread into his entire body from untreated animal bites. Unfortunately, prolonged inflammation in his elbow caused permanent nerve damage requiring his leg to be amputated. But this hasn't slowed him down at all! Valentino is good with all dogs, big and small. He loves to play, wrestle, and toss toys around. He also loves lizard hunting in the backyard. Val is very friendly with people, even strangers. He loves cuddling and doesn't understand personal space. He is gentle when taking treats and very treat motivated. He does great on outings, from exploring downtown Dallas to sitting on a restaurant patio. He is calm and doesn't get stressed out. Only having 3 legs hasn't slowed him down a bit, he is a good runner, active, and playful. Val loves going on walks and will run to the door when you grab his harness. He is house trained and does great when left home alone. He doesn't like getting in the car but is good to go once he's in. Valentino is neutered and up to date on vaccines. His adoption fee is $250. He is currently in a foster home in North Texas. Out of area adopters are responsible for arranging their own transport. Apply to meet and adopt Valentino at www.spinrescue.org
