In the shelter’s words
Silas and Horace are bonded friends who were found very sickly in a condemned house. They have overcome many health obsticles, such as having any remainig teeth removed, dealing with chornic sinusitis and ear infections, but remain loyal and loving. They have been doing great and gaining their health back in a foster home since April 2026. They love being together, snuggling, looking out windows and playing. Horace is the most affectionate cat you will ever meet. He has nothing but love in his heart, even after everything he has been through. He loves catnip, scratchers, playing with string toys (or any toy!), and more than anything else, quality lap time. Horace will sit on your lap all day if you let him. He is very food motivated and will even push Silas out of the way for wet food or treats. Horace and Silas will have helath issues for the remainder of their lives, but they deserve the best after everything they have been through! DOB: 3/2016 **This cat is currently in a foster home and arrangements can be made for a meeting once you have applied with us. All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV. If interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process. Due to the large number of inquiries received, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.**

Plan a visit with the source organization
We have an application that requires the potential adopter to wait until their application can be verified. Once everything checks out the adopter comes and picks up their new fur member of the family and signs a contract. One of the highlights of our contract states that if for ANY reason at ANY time they cannot care for the animal, they must return the cat or dog back to Colony Cats (& dogs). Our adoption fees are $125 for kittens 6 months and younger; $75 for kittens over 6 months and adults up to 7 years; $50 for 7 years and older. If adopting 2 kittens/cats at the same time there is a $25 discount. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, Feline Leukemia and FIV tested (cats), heartworm tested (dogs), microchip, flea prevention, vaccinations (FVRCP for cats and DHLPP for dogs), rabies vaccine (if kittens or puppies are old enough to receive a rabies vaccine). If not, the new owner will need to go to their vet to get this done.
