In the shelter’s words
Winnifred (5 years old) Winnifred is a lovely dilute tortoiseshell with a soft coat and pale green eyes. She is friendly and eager to make your acquaintance, so be prepared for her enthusiastic greeting and chirpy hello. She loves to chat, purr, and sit by your side or on your lap while you pet her. Winnie also enjoys playing with toys, especially when you join in the games. Because she is people-oriented, Winnie would do best in a calm home where someone has time to spend with her and share special moments during the day. She likes the company of other cats, too, because they prevent her from being too lonely, but because Winnie is such a gentle soul she would do best with cats who are as gentle and sweet-natured as she is. Winnie is a loving cat whose wish-list includes soft beds, a permanent place by your side, plenty of meaningful chats, and the chance at last to be a lifelong companion. Winnifred is being treated for some skin allergies and is on a special diet. She needs a caring adopter who can maintain her medications and ensure that she is healthy and comfortable. Winnifred is currently in foster-to-adopt status. OK with Dogs : No OK with Cats : Gentle and non-aggressive cats only OK with Kids : Unknown

http://catscradleshelter.org/CCS/how-to-adopt/ An interview with the executive director is done prior to adoption. Not everyone is approved to adopt. Those that are approved have the cat for a 3 week trial period, where they can return cat and get a refund. Beyond that, we always want our cats back if the adoptive household can no longer care for it, but after 3 weeks, the adoption fee is not refunded. An adoption contract is completed prior to final adoption. Adoption fees are $118 including tax.
