In the shelter’s words
Meet Johnson! This pup is eligible for our Test the Couch program — a 7-day trial adoption to see if your home (and your couch) is the perfect fit. Learn more https://pipsrescue.org/test-the-couch/He’s a playful, goofy doggo with a heart as big as his smile! Whether he’s zooming around the yard, playing with his doggy buddies, or settling in for a cozy nap, Johnson is always up for some fun (and snuggles). This goofy guy knows his basic commands, is house and crate-trained, and even behaves well in the car. He’s wary of meeting with new dogs while on a leash but is super eager to learn and loves treats!Johnson would do well in a home without kids. He would love a home that could continue to provide him with structure and training to keep being the best boy—as long as there are plenty of treats involved!Johnson dreams of a forever home with a fenced-in yard where he can frolic to his heart’s content and maybe even share it with a fur-sibling to be his BFF and wrestling buddy. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal friend who’s ready to bring joy and playfulness into your life, Johnson is your guy. $100 of Johnson's adoption fee has been sponsored by a provate donor. His adoption fee is only $225! pipsrescue.org/adopt

Plan a visit with the source organization
Once we receive your application an adoption counselor will take a look and reach out with any questions. The team will check personal, vet references and check with your landlord if applicable. Your adoption counselor will then set up a time to talk with you and your family (or anyone else involved in the adoption process in your home). This call is a good time to ask any questions you have. Once your application is approved, you will be connected with the foster of the PIP(s) you are interested in. From start to finish, this process can take anywhere from a few days to over a week (so please be patient!). If everything goes well and you and the foster agree that the PIP you want to adopt is a good fit, we will then finalize the adoption. Adoption fees are $325 for adults and $375 for puppies. All dogs will be up to date on age appropriate vaccines and spayed / neutered if old enough. If not old enough adopters can come back to our vet to have it covered in fee. It must be done by the time the dog is 6 months old.
