In the shelter’s words
Meet Eddie!A one-year-old pittie mix with a tremendous heart that somehow got squeezed into a 50-pound body. Wrapped in a gorgeous chocolate-brown coat, topped with a charming red nose, and sporting the dreamiest golden eyes you've ever seen, Eddie has mastered one magical trick: one look, and you'll be hopelessly in love.Eddie's favorite hobbies include collecting pets, perfecting the art of snuggling, strutting proudly on leash walks, and proving he's the undefeated Tug-of-War Champion of the Backyard.Life wasn't always kind to Eddie, but you would never know it from the way he greets every person with sweetness and trust. He's happiest soaking up love and giving it right back.Eddie prefers humans to other canines, so he's looking for a home where he can be the one and only dog. In return, he'll happily fill every corner of your home—and your heart—with enough love to make you wonder how you ever lived without him.The family lucky enough to adopt Eddie won't just be getting a dog. They'll be getting a best friend.Current Weight: 50lbsAdoption Fee: $250To apply: fcrspca.org/adopt

Plan a visit with the source organization
We require all interested families to come in to the shelter and meet the dog or dogs that they are interested in (unless they meet a dog at an adoption event). We have a very thorough application which they can fill out and return to the shelter - we do not provide applications on line. We check vet, personal, and landlord references (we require a signed letter from the landlord and confirmation via phone call that pets are allowed). When an application is approved, we set up a meet and greet if there are other animals in the household. If not, the kids are ready to go home. We encourage all potential adopters to spend as much time with the dog(s) as possible before they head home, and an adoption contract is signed before the dog(s) go(es) home.
