In the shelter’s words
Meet Edna, the Queen of Hearts Her Royal Highness Edna rules her kingdom with equal parts affection, sass, and impeccable boundaries. A devoted cuddler when the mood strikes, she adores being close to her people — preferably wrapped snugly in a cozy towel like the pampered little queen she is. But like any proper monarch, Edna will absolutely let you know when court is adjourned and she requires her space. Otherwise, she enjoys the company of her court (humans and dogs). Yet in some ways, Edna is low maintenance. She loves snuggling under a towel or heavy blanket. She does well in the car where she's happy to sit on the seat. She doesn’t require leashed walks - and she doesn’t go anywhere fast so even loose outside, she will wander around a little bit but doesn’t go very far. She loves to sun bathe. Edna is diabetic and requires regular insulin injections, a process she considers deeply offensive to the Crown. Expect dramatic complaints, wounded expressions, and the occasional royal protest. Thankfully, a warm towel snuggle and loyal subjects willing to spoil her help restore peace to the kingdom. Edna is looking for a calm, loving home where her quirks, routines, and royal attitude will be cherished. In return, Queen Edna will reward her chosen humans with loyal companionship, cozy cuddles, and the privilege of serving the sweetest tiny ruler in the land. If you've always wanted to be part of a royal family, please consider applying to adopt this little Queen and ask for EDNA THE SPICY CHI TX!

Potential adopters will submit an adoption application. The adopters information will be screened including veterinary and personal references. After the first round of screening they will get the chance to meet the pet. If it is a good match, as deemed by NSPR volunteers, the adopter will complete an adoption contract and pay the fee of 375.00. All animals will be spayed/neutered and fully vetted prior to adoption. The only exception would be small puppies in which case the adopter will submit an additional deposit refundable upon proof of spay/neuter. In the event an animal is no longer wanted, the adoption contract will stipulate that the animal always gets returned to us, and is never sold, given away, or surrendered to another rescue or shelter.
