In the shelter’s words
‍ MEET VULCAN — FROM FERAL FIREBALL TO LITTLE BLACK PANTHER! ‍Boy, oh boy, has this little guy come a LONG way to get where he is today! Vulcan is part of our Sunset Project, and when he and his sister Vesta were first trapped as very feral kittens, let’s just say they wanted absolutely NOTHING to do with us! Humans? No, thank you! In fact, this tiny little panther was once so spicy that he even managed to bite our veterinarian! But we saw the potential hiding behind all that fear, and we weren’t about to give up on him.And so began months of patience, hands-on socialization, lots of love, and, of course, some extra yummy treats! Slowly but surely, those walls started coming down, and the little boy who once wanted nothing to do with people began to realize that maybe, just maybe, humans weren’t so bad after all. Fast-forward to today, and WOW, what a transformation! Our once-feral little fireball has blossomed into the sweetest, most endearing little black panther! ‍These days, you’ll find Vulcan lounging on comfy couches, rolling over to show off that adorable belly, and soaking up all the pets and affection he can get! He absolutely LOVES being petted all over and has even learned to trust us enough to allow himself to be picked up!For a kitten who once viewed human hands as something to fear, that is a HUGE accomplishment! And while Vulcan may never understand just how far he’s come, we certainly do.This is why we do what we do. This is why we put in the time, the patience, and the countless hours of socialization. Because sometimes, underneath that tough little feral exterior is the most incredible, loving companion just waiting for someone to give him a chance.I cannot even begin to express how proud I am of this little boy and the journey he’s made to become the loving, adoptable kitty he is today.WAY TO GO, VULCAN! You traded your tough-guy attitude for couch cushions, belly rubs, and a whole lot of love, and we couldn’t be happier for you!Now there’s just one more chapter left in your story… finding your very own forever family! Randall’s Rescue — where even the spiciest little souls can blossom with patience, love, and a little bit of magic.

Want to find a special someone to join your family? You've come to the right place. Adopt locally with us for the benefit of our community. All you need to do is fill out an adoption form and we will find a purrfect match for your family. All of our rescues are: examined by a veterinarian, vaccinated up to date, all cats are FIV/FELV tested, dogs are Heartworm tested if age appropriate, dewormed, spayed/neutered when age appropriate and treated with flea/tick product, if needed. They also are all microchipped when they are spayed/neutered. Once an application is completed & approved to move forward - we would set up a time for you to come and meet them in their foster home where they are comfortable. If everyone feels it is a good match for everyone, we would then schedule a home visit (required) prior to adoption. We also require a non refundable deposit of $50 per pet prior to a home visit. (To be applied toward adoption donation.) Adoption Fees* (Cats): $135 for a cat/kitten Adoption Fees* (Dogs): $500 for a puppy (under 1 year of age) $400 for an adult dog *There may be a special rate for adopting a bonded pair!
