In the shelter’s words
Meet Cherokee! Cherokee is a sweet, happy, and playful boy who is ready to find a forever home with a friendly feline companion of his own. This social little guy loves having a kitty friend to bond with, play with, and share his adventures. Cherokee is currently in foster care with another kitten, Willy, who is also looking for a forever home. The two can be adopted together, or Cherokee can be adopted separately into a home with another friendly, playful cat. Cherokee loves toys, treats, and plenty of attention from his people. He is also a wonderfully vocal little guy who isn't shy about letting everyone know when he would like some love and attention! Cherokee is healthy, FIV and FeLV negative, and on track with his vaccinations. He will be neutered soon. With his playful personality, love of feline companionship, and adorable chatty nature, Cherokee is ready to find a home where he can continue to play, grow, and be loved. To learn more or apply to adopt Cherokee, please email nycatcoaladopt@yahoo.com or call Joan at (718) 671-1695. An online adoption form is also available - click here to apply.

Plan a visit with the source organization
We wish to place cats only in secure, safe, stable, loving homes, and we are very careful in our review of the applications. Potential Pet-parents fill out an Adoption Application, we review the application, call the applicant, schedule a time for them to visit our cats. We check their references, call their veterinarian, and verify that their backup person who would take the cats if something happened to the adopter is on board. Then a Foster Agreement is completed. When all parties are happy, after about 2 weeks, we have the finalized Adoption Agreement sent to us.
