In the shelter’s words
Meet Van Dam! Van Dam is a handsome boy who deserves a safe, loving forever home. He was found near a feral cat colony, alone and so frightened that he was too afraid to eat. We knew we couldn't leave this sweet boy to fend for himself, so he was brought to safety. Van Dam was understandably shy at first, but with time, patience, and the security of knowing he was safe, he has begun to blossom. One of his favorite pastimes now is sitting by the window and watching the birds go by. Van Dam is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and FIV and FeLV negative, and he is ready to begin the next chapter of his life. After everything he has been through, Van Dam deserves a home where he will always have a full belly, a cozy place to rest, and people who will remind him every day that he is safe and loved. Could Van Dam be the handsome boy who completes the family? To learn more or apply to adopt Van Dam, please email nycatcoaladopt@yahoo.com or call Joan at (718) 671-1695. An online adoption form is also available - click here to apply.

Plan a visit with the source organization
We wish to place cats only in secure, safe, stable, loving homes, and we are very careful in our review of the applications. Potential Pet-parents fill out an Adoption Application, we review the application, call the applicant, schedule a time for them to visit our cats. We check their references, call their veterinarian, and verify that their backup person who would take the cats if something happened to the adopter is on board. Then a Foster Agreement is completed. When all parties are happy, after about 2 weeks, we have the finalized Adoption Agreement sent to us.
