In the shelter’s words

PLEASE NOTE THAT CHARLEY AND MARLEY ARE BONDED AND MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER.Meet Marley, a gentle little soul with a heart that shines bright. This sweet, 11-year-old Chihuahua mix was surrendered through no fault of his own. Marley is incredibly affectionate and adores snuggling with his people. He would be perfectly content being carried around all day, soaking up every bit of attention and affection he can get.Marley was surrendered into rescue with his brother by another mother, Charley (also with DSR). These two are inseparable and bonded to each other in heart and spirit. Marley and Charley have shared their lives together and we are dedicated to seeing they remain together for the rest of their lives. Therefore, they will need to be adopted together in the comfort of a forever family who will open up the doors to welcoming two little senior canine companions into their home. Marley has a lovely tan-and-black short coat and big, soulful brown eyes. Fully grown at just 9 pounds, he is the perfect size for cuddling. He is good with other dogs, cats and does well with children. As a senior dog, Marley offers the kind of companionship that only comes with time. He is steady, gentle, and deeply loyal. He would be happiest soaking up the sunshine, resting in a warm lap, and sharing quiet moments with his person. All he wants is comfort, companionship, and a place where he can finally feel at home. He would be a wonderful match for anyone looking for a devoted companion who already knows how to be a great dog.Marley walks well on a leash, is housetrained and his crate training is in progress. While he may already be housetrained, it is important to remember that accidents can happen as he adjusts to a new home and routine. If you are ready to open your heart and home to this sweet little guy, be sure to apply today!* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Marley & Charley together is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.
