In the shelter’s words

Starting October 6, all cats and kittens are FREE to adopt! Come find your new best friend today!️ Why settle for a little love when you can have Fog in your face about it? ️Meet Fog! Fog is a 3‑year‑old tabby who has mastered the art of high‑place lounging and full‑face affection. In our free‑roam room, you can almost always spot him stretched out on the cat wall, snoozing like a king overseeing his kingdom. But the moment you walk through the door, Fog springs into action — jumping down, trotting over, and getting right in your face with his enthusiastic “Hi, I love you!” greeting.Fog came to us with his thirteen siblings, and he still carries that big‑family confidence and friendliness. Whether you’re here to meet him or one of his brothers or sisters, Fog assumes you’re here for him and makes sure you don’t leave without saying hello. He’s social, affectionate, and loves being part of whatever is happening. He enjoys tunnels, high perches, and any cozy spot where he can lounge like royalty. But he’s just as happy curling up in your lap, soaking up attention, and reminding you that he’s not just a climber — he’s a cuddler too.Fog is good with kids and cats, and he has not had any negative reactions to dogs. His easygoing nature makes him a great fit for many types of homes. If you’re looking for a cat who’s equal parts chill, charming, and delightfully in‑your‑face affectionate, Fog might be your perfect match. He’s ready to find a home where he can nap high, love deeply, and greet his people with enthusiasm every single day.Fog's adoption fee is $50, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! We welcome adopters from out of state to apply! _When it comes to our pets, we're all-inclusive! ACSKC Health Care for Each Adopted Pet Includes:Dogs: Preventatives for parasites, vaccines (Kennel Cough, Distemper, Rabies), spay/neuter, microchip, behavioral assessment.Cats: Parasite treatment, FeLV/FIV testing, deworming for kittens, vaccines (Distemper, Rabies), spay/neuter, microchip. What You’ll Take Home:Toys, treats, and food sampleRabies tag, microchip number, and medical recordsA “Pet Pal Packet” with feeding info, training tips, and guidance for helping your new pet adjust

Plan a visit with the source organization

Once you’re ready to adopt, head over to our Adoption Application to fill out and submit the form. Once our Adoption Team has reviewed and approved your application, we will give you a call to schedule an appointment with the pet! When you arrive at ACSKC, you will be greeted by our Adoption Coordinator and taken to meet the pet, either in our Meet and Greet Room or one of the play yards. If you already have pets in the home, you may be asked to bring them with you for a meet and greet to ensure they will get along in the home (this typically only applies to dogs). If you and our Adoption Coordinator feel like it is a good match, we will then finalize the paperwork and send you home with a bag of goodies, including our “Welcoming Your New Pet Home Guide,” toys, treats and a sample bag of their pet food. If it is not a good match, you are welcome to meet the other available pets in the shelter. Your approved application will be kept on file for 90 days, so you’re encouraged to take your time before making a decision!
