MEET "THELMA" OKLAHOMA, MCALLESTER; ADOPT OR FOSTER TO ADOPT DOB: 6/1/2025 BREED: CENTRAL ASIAN SHEPHERD NOTES : ABOUT THELMA Thelma is currently around 125 pounds and may mature somewhere around 140 pounds. Despite her impressive size and presence, she is an incredibly loving, gentle girl who enjoys being with her people. In her foster home, she has experienced life around poultry, waterfowl, goats, sheep and pigs from the other side of a fence. Thelma loves having room, being outside, checking out what's happening around the property and then coming inside to enjoy the comforts of home. She is good with other dogs and would love a home where she can bond with her people, have a job of her own choosing, even if that job is simply keeping tabs on her property. As with any dog, introductions to animals, routines and the property need to happen slowly and intentionally. New home. New animals. New relationships. ------------------------------------------------ Ground transport assistance may be available within 1K miles depending on where you live and the availability of volunteer drivers along the route. Veterinary reference is required on all adoptions. NO APARTMENT HOMES NO LIVESTOCK MUST HAVE SECURE FENCING

Our Adoption Process Big Paws K9 Foster House is primarily a foster-based organization, and we proudly partner with established rescue groups to help dogs find loving forever homes. In most cases, the adoption process is managed directly through the rescue organization we are fostering for. However, there are times when a dog in need has no rescue support available. In those situations, we step in to bring the dog into our own adoption program. Adopting Through Big Paws K9 Foster House When you adopt a dog directly from us, here’s what to expect: Adoption Fee: $300 This includes full veterinary care, spay/neuter (if needed), vaccinations, microchipping, and heartworm testing/prevention. Application Process: All potential adopters must complete our adoption application. This helps us ensure a good fit for both the dog and your household. Requirements: Breed experience or knowledge is required for certain breeds. Secure, suitable fencing is required; photos must be submitted with your application. A clear plan for training and integrating the dog into your home must be provided. Veterinary reference checks are conducted to confirm that all current or past pets are/were: Up to date on vaccinations On heartworm prevention and tested regularly Spayed or neutered Home Verification: We verify homeownership or landlord approval to ensure that pets are allowed at the property. Adoption Contract: All adopters must sign a contract stating that if at any point they are unable to continue caring for the dog, the animal must be returned to Big Paws K9 Foster House. This ensures our dogs always have a safe place to go, no matter the circumstances. We are committed to responsible placement and lifelong support. Thank you for considering adoption and helping us save lives.
