In the shelter’s words
Meet Dixie! Dixie is an absolute gem — smart, joyful, and beautiful inside and out. From the moment you meet her, it’s clear she’s a dog who wants to connect, learn, and be part of a family. She’s incredibly intelligent and has already picked up several tricks during her time at the shelter, proving just how eager she is to learn. Dixie would thrive with someone who enjoys engaging with a smart dog — whether that’s continued training, enrichment activities, or simply spending quality one-on-one time together. Dixie loves being outside, especially going for walks and runs where she can stretch her legs and soak up the world around her. She’s happy, enthusiastic, and carries herself with a quiet confidence that makes her such a pleasure to be around. She’s also been a mama in the past, and you can see that gentle, nurturing sweetness in her demeanor. There is truly nothing negative to say about Dixie — she’s affectionate, bright, active, and a total doll. She’s ready for a home where her intelligence is appreciated, her happiness is nurtured, and her loving heart finally gets the comfort and stability she deserves. If you’re looking to adopt or foster a dog who will reward your time and care with loyalty, joy, and endless love, Dixie is waiting — and she’s ready to be someone’s very special girl.
