In the shelter’s words
Meet Tres! Tres is a beautiful, petite girl with a big heart and an incredible story of resilience. She was in the right place at the right time when we found her and brought her to safety. Malnourished and struggling with a severely deformed hind leg, Tres had clearly been through a lot. But from the moment she was rescued, she showed us just how grateful she was to be safe. Her foster family lovingly nicknamed her “Kickstand” because her deformed leg resembled a bicycle kickstand. Unfortunately, the leg was interfering with her mobility, so after several months of nourishing food, veterinary care, and plenty of TLC, Tres was finally strong enough to undergo the surgery she needed. Tres has recovered beautifully and is doing amazingly well! She gets around with confidence and continues to show everyone what a brave and resilient little girl she is. Her difficult past hasn't dimmed her sweet spirit or her capacity for love. Estimated to be about 1½ years old, Tres is petite but has plenty of personality and love to give. She is comfortable around other cats and even gets along with her two canine foster brothers. She could also happily be the queen of her own castle as an only pet, where she can soak up all the love and attention. Tres has overcome so much and is now ready for the part of her story she has been waiting for: a loving forever home where she can simply be a happy, cherished cat. To learn more or apply to adopt Tres, please email nycatcoaladopt@yahoo.com or call Joan at (718) 671-1695. An online adoption form is also available - click here to apply.

We wish to place cats only in secure, safe, stable, loving homes, and we are very careful in our review of the applications. Potential Pet-parents fill out an Adoption Application, we review the application, call the applicant, schedule a time for them to visit our cats. We check their references, call their veterinarian, and verify that their backup person who would take the cats if something happened to the adopter is on board. Then a Foster Agreement is completed. When all parties are happy, after about 2 weeks, we have the finalized Adoption Agreement sent to us.
