In the shelter’s words
Noir is a little enigma wrapped in sleek, midnight-black fur. With eyes that gleam like hidden treasures in the moonlight, this sweet, shy kitten has a story to tell, but she's waiting for just the right person to help her share it. Though she may be a little timid at first, don’t let that fool you; there’s a heart of gold beneath her mysterious exterior. Noir has all the makings of a perfect companion for someone willing to take the time to understand her quiet nature. She loves curling up in a safe, cozy spot, where she can observe her surroundings, taking in the world at her own pace. In time, with patience and kindness, she’ll slowly open up, revealing her playful side and her sweet, gentle demeanor. Her soft purrs are like a secret melody, gentle but warming, and once Noir feels at home, you’ll find her snuggling up beside you, offering her love and trust one paw at a time. A patient home without too much hustle and bustle is ideal, where Noir can gradually build her confidence and begin to flourish. She needs someone who can give her the time she deserves and shower her with love at her own pace. If you’re someone who enjoys the thrill of a mystery and the reward of watching a shy little soul grow, then Noir might just be your perfect match. In return for your patience, she’ll offer you a loyalty as deep as the night sky and a companionship that’s truly special. Will you be the one to bring this quiet, enchanting kitten out of her shell and into her happily-ever-after? Noir's adoption fee is $75. Many cats do so much better in pairs, especially kittens, which is why we offer a reduced adoption fee of $25 for the second cat (or more!). We welcome applications from outside the Lynchburg area; just keep in mind that non-local adopters must wait till she is spayed before taking her home.

We have an extensive application process where veterinary references are checked (we require all current and past animals have been altered and that the client shows a history of good vet care) and we has a number of questions targeted at encouraging the adopting family to really consider if they are ready financially and emotionally to support an animal life long. We also try to match the right animal with the right home with consideration to the adopters previous animal experience, energy level, and general personality. After reviewing and approving and applicant (on paper), we meet with them and all members of their house hold including other resident dogs. We offer one week trials to ensure this decision is in the best interest of both human and animal. If all parties are confident upon meeting, then we have a contract which also states that if any anytime they are unable to keep the animal, that they will return in to our organization. Adoption fees vary from $100-275 based on age, size, and breed, with $175 as an average.
