In the shelter’s words

Hi my name is Icy Torrent. Icy for short. A little about me: I was living the street life in Colorado Springs with my mom and siblings, when a friend of Wild Blue found us and said we all deserved a chance at the pampered life. Living with humans was a big transition for me. I was sharp as frostbite at first, and I still put up a bit of an &#34ice queen&#34 front. I LOVE the toys and treats that come with humans. These perks have helped build trust. I rely on my more confident brother, Izumo to help me connect with people, so it would be great if I can go to a forever family with him. I am just starting to allow pets and the occasional pick-up by gentle humans that I&#39m familiar with. Description: 2-month-old spayed, FELV negative, female medium hair. - Silky black and white fur with hazel brown eyes - Extremely shy, but sweet and yearning to play. Likes: Chasing toys of every kind, but especially wand toys, springs and fuzzy balls. - Cuddling with my brother Izumo, grooming each other - tube treats - Nibbling house plants, so please keep me safe. - Sleeping at the foot of the bed below my human, as long as Izumo is there too. Dislikes: Being left alone without my fur friends. If I can&#39t find my brother I cry loudly until he comes to &#34rescue&#34 me. - New things that aren&#39t food - I&#39m cautious about new people, animals, sounds, spaces and even toys. I run and hide whenever I&#39m unsure. I rely on my sibling to let me know if things are going to be okay. - Sharing my toys. I can be toy possessive, getting growly and a little swatty when excited. - Having my claws trimmed. I will need a lot more practice with this so please be extra gentle. Skills: recognizing the food routine and coming to my humans for treats. - Using my vertical and flat scratching posts. - Using litter box - crushing it. A Note from my Foster Humans: Icy appears to have a cold personality but she has plenty of love to share. Right now, much of that affection is aimed at her brother, Izumo, so please check out his profile as well. She has worked so hard and is making great progress toward trusting people and new cats. Shared playtime is a big part of that process. For her comfort and some of her anxious behaviors we do not recommend a home with young children or dogs. We do believe she will grow and thrive in a calm, quieter home that will respect her pace and approach her with consistent kindness. If you believe you and your animals have the warmth and patience to thaw this snow queen&#39s heart please consider bringing Icy Torrent into your family.
