In the shelter’s words
Ready to SPICE up your life?! ️ “When you’re feeling sad and low, He will take you where you gotta go…” Meet Spice! And yes, this handsome boy is exactly as fun, friendly, and lovable as his name suggests. ❤️ Spice is a 6-year-old male Pittie who is basically the whole package. He absolutely LOVES other dogs—big, small, playful, goofy, and even the more… ahem… annoying ones. He can happily hang with the crew at daycare playgroup and knows how to enjoy himself while being a great canine companion. And the best part? Spice has already put in the work! He completed a board-and-train program, so this boy comes with some serious manners. He’s friendly, well-mannered, and ready to be someone’s loyal sidekick. Whether you’re looking for a couch-cuddling buddy, a dog who can make friends wherever he goes, or simply a sweet boy who will bring a little more happiness into your everyday life, Spice is ready to turn up the positivity! So come on… “Spice up your life—every boy and every girl!” ️ If your life could use a little more love, laughter, and Pittie snuggles, Spice is waiting for you! Cali is with a trainer in Lucasville. Apply for her on our website and we will get you in touch with her trainer!

Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
