In the shelter’s words

Django is affectionate and playful, best for experienced adopters in quiet environments. He enjoys fetch, training, and thrives on structure. Django is a sensitive and loyal soul who just needs a patient hand and a loving heart to bring out his best. Shy at first, Django truly blossoms into a devoted companion once trust is built. He enjoys peaceful walks in low-traffic areas, loves having his own space for meals and toys, and prefers calm, gentle handling. This special boy would thrive in a home without other pets, where he can soak up all the love and attention as your one-and-only four-legged friend. Back Story Django grew up in a wonderful home. His owner got married, and the new man of the house took Django’s place. He decided Django had to go. Django was dumped into a terrible situation, which left him confused and traumatized. Since being here, he has healed and loves all humans and dogs on the ranch. Behavior Profile Once Django chooses you, you’ve got a best friend for life. He adores quiet moments, gentle affection, and is always ready for a game of fetch or a romp in the yard. A professional snuggler with excellent house manners, Django is also a quick learner who thrives on praise and loves to work alongside you. His future adopter will not only gain a loyal companion but a partner in joy, play, and life’s quieter moments. Django’s perfect match would be an experienced, dog-savvy adopter or a calm, adults-only household. A secure yard, patience, and a commitment to positive reinforcement training will set him up for success. If you’re looking for a devoted sidekick who will reward your patience with unwavering loyalty, Django may just be your perfect match. Positive Attributes: · Loves quiet moments and gentle affection. · Always up for a game of fetch or a romp in the yard. · Professional snuggler and couch companion. · Quick learner who enjoys training games. · Loves to work with you and thrives on praise. · Already has great house manners. Behavior Challenges · Shy at first, but blooms into a loyal companion once trust is built. · Best walked in low-traffic areas where they can relax and enjoy. · May need solid fencing or distance from high-traffic areas. · Would love to be your one-and-only four-legged friend. · Enjoys meals and toys in their own space. · Prefers slow, gentle handling and builds trust over time. · Best in a home without small animals. If you cannot adopt right now, will you help by sponsoring monthly? You can help sanctuary, adoptable, in-treatment, and new-intake dogs by giving $10 or more each month. Your charitable support helps provide food, medications, veterinary care, training, and love our dogs need while they wait for a family, heal, or live in the sanctuary. Dog Adoption Process Overview We do not guarantee the health of any of our animals for adoption. Any time you adopt an animal, you should take it to a licensed veterinarian as soon as possible. Your animal is, to the best of our knowledge, healthy. It is our goal to place newly adopted pets as quickly as possible – we feel this is best for both the pet and the adoptive family (not to mention it frees up a space for us to save another dog or pup!) Your patience and cooperation are appreciated. Our Adoption Process Select your dog or puppy. Our available dogs can be viewed online on our website at www.petsreturnhome.org. To meet a particular dog or pup, you can either email info@petsreturnhome.org to be put in touch with the foster parents. Submit an Application. Our Adoption Application can be found on our website www.petsreturnhome.org or at one of our adoption events. Applications can be submitted at an event or submitted via email attachment to info@petsreturnhome.org. Applications are not processed until you have met, chosen and committed to adopting a particular dog or pup and are processed on a first come basis. For assistance at the adoption events please see the person at our information table. NOTE: Processing normally takes no more than one week from the time your application has been received and you have selected an animal, to the point at which you will sign the contract and receive your pup or dog. When submitting your application, please make sure you can be available to sign the adoption contracts and to accept your new pet. If you are a previous adopter we still require you to fill out another application. Interview. As a first step in processing your application you will be interviewed by one of our adoption counselors. This is the time for you to ask any questions that you may have about the organization, our processes or our dogs. The interview will either take place at an adoption event or we can conduct your interview over the phone. A
