In the shelter’s words
Tippy is a handsome tabby and white fellow that was born in February 2024 and brought to SCP as a tiny baby after he was found in a backyard. He had been available for adoption with us for just over a year when all of a sudden he began to not feel well and lost a ton of weight. He was diagnosed with FIP, a previously deadly disease in cats until recently when a revolutionary new medicine became available in the US. Tippy has been the first cat in our program to try out this new medicine and we’re thrilled to report that he has made a complete recovery! He is now back to looking for his purrfect family so if you’d like to audition please let his SCP staff know :) The cat adoption fee is $120 (or $190 for two cats). Second Chance Pets is a foster-based organization so all animals live in foster homes throughout the area. All cats are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV and feline leukemia, fully vaccinated, dewormed, defleaed and microchipped. Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Clear Lake Petco (2410 Bay Area Blvd, Houston 77058). If interested in one of our cats please feel free to complete an application, found on our website www.secondchancepets.org, and email it to us at pets2adopt@yahoo.com for pre-review.

Potential adopters must complete an application and SCP volunteers can help adopters identify cats and dogs that will fit best in their homes. SCP adoption counselors review the applications, conduct in-person interviews and discuss pet care responsibilities with potential adopters. SCP checks applicants' vet references and may conduct a home visit at its discretion. So that the best interests of the pet are served, SCP reserves the right to refuse an adoption to anyone. The adoption fees are $110 for cats ($175 for two cats), $190 for dogs and $245 for puppies.
