VALE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Vale Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and retriever mix Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of July 2026 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 35 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We think Vale could live with dog savvy cats with proper introductions. We haven't seen her with kids, but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. Because Vale is shy, she also needs a welcoming resident dog who will help show her the ropes!Vale is Looking For: Her forever home! Vale is a sato - a dog from Puerto Rico. She is in her prime as a young dog and hasn't seen enough of the world - she's eager to get her own humans for sniffy walks and romps in parks and all the adventures her family can dream up. Making pup pals along the way would be great, as would going to dog school so she can show how super smart she is. Most of all, though, she wants to know where she belongs, to be safe and loved all her days. In exchange she promises so much love and loyalty. What do you say? Can you see her by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: Are you in need of a second shadow? Vale might be your girl! She is a calm, sweet, and loyal pup, whose greatest happiness in life is to be near her human. Whether on leash or off, she's always just a few steps away. She is still working on her confidence, but has made tremendous progress since she first arrived. With patience, kindness, and the support of a resident dog, she opens up and has truly so much love to share. She is doing well with crate training, walking on leash, and skills like sit, paw, and lie down. She enjoys the dog park and has a sweet, dainty way of playing with other pups. Her future family will be very lucky to have her! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
