In the shelter’s words
DOB: 6/10/2024 Maple Syrup is as rich and golden in spirit as her name suggests. This beautiful calico has been through a lot — she arrived at the shelter with a large abdominal wound — but with gentle care and time, she’s healed and is now ready to pour her sweetness into a forever home. Like real maple syrup, she doesn’t rush. Maple Syrup is a bit shy, preferring slow approaches and soft voices, but for those patient enough to earn her trust, she offers a quiet, comforting kind of love that sticks with you long after the moment has passed. She’s looking for someone who understands that the best things in life take time — a calm home, kind hands, and a heart ready to let her sweetness flow. If you’re willing to move at her pace, Maple Syrup just might be the sweetest thing to ever come into your life. Come meet me at the cage-free Adoption Center! All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV. **If interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process. Due to the large number of inquiries received, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.**

We have an application that requires the potential adopter to wait until their application can be verified. Once everything checks out the adopter comes and picks up their new fur member of the family and signs a contract. One of the highlights of our contract states that if for ANY reason at ANY time they cannot care for the animal, they must return the cat or dog back to Colony Cats (& dogs). Our adoption fees are $125 for kittens 6 months and younger; $75 for kittens over 6 months and adults up to 7 years; $50 for 7 years and older. If adopting 2 kittens/cats at the same time there is a $25 discount. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, Feline Leukemia and FIV tested (cats), heartworm tested (dogs), microchip, flea prevention, vaccinations (FVRCP for cats and DHLPP for dogs), rabies vaccine (if kittens or puppies are old enough to receive a rabies vaccine). If not, the new owner will need to go to their vet to get this done.
