In the shelter’s words
Mikey is with our rescue partner in Louisiana and can come to NJ with an approved foster or adopter. We do offer foster-to-adopt trials for approved adopters. Big dog. Bigger heart. Absolutely no idea he isn’t lap-sized. Meet Mikey, a Great Pyrenees mix surrendered because his owners were moving. While we wish his story had started differently, we’re so glad that he’s finally getting the care he needs. He arrived with terrible flea allergies, but with lots of love and medication, his hair is already growing back. Mikey is going to be one handsome dude! Mikey is a gentle giant who gives the best hugs and believes your lap is exactly where he belongs. He’s house-trained, great with kids and other dogs, rides well in the car, and loves to run and play. Mikey is even wonderful with cats! He lets them climb all over him and doesn’t mind it one bit. Now all Mikey needs is the right family to love him as much as he’ll love them. This boy will fit right in to any home. If you have room for a big, sweet pup, Mikey might be your guy. Mikey is fixed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. He tested negative for heart worm. His adoption donation is $500. Adopting an animal is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these animal have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.
