In the shelter’s words
In honor of Pit Bull Awareness Month, my adoption fee is WAIVED for the entire month of October! ❤ As sweet as her name, full of kisses, and ready to be treated like the queen she is. Meet Sugar! Meet Sugar!Sugar is a 4-year-old blonde Pit Bull who is every bit as sweet as her name. She came to us as a stray alongside a younger male Pit Bull, and from day one, she has been a spoonful of sugar with everyone she meets.Sugar is a happy-go-lucky girl who absolutely loves people. She'll happily jump up to give you kisses, and if you get down on her level, it's free hugs and full-body wiggles for as long as you can handle them. She's currently working on keeping all four paws on the floor, but her enthusiasm for making new friends sometimes gets the best of her! When she's not busy showering everyone with affection, Sugar loves playing fetch, chasing after tennis balls, lounging in her room for a good nap, or sitting and watching the world go by. She is the perfect mix of playful and relaxed, always ready for a game and equally happy to settle in for some quiet time.Sugar will need a securely fenced yard with a tall fence, or she will need to remain on leash while outside. She has previously jumped out of a play yard, so her future family will need to be mindful of her athletic abilities and keep her safe. She was cat-tested and showed a little too much interest in our feline friends, so she's looking for a cat-free home. Sugar would also do best as the only dog in the home where she can soak up all the attention for herself.Sugar does appear to have had a litter or two of puppies in the past, and now she's ready to settle into a loving home where she can finally be treated like the queen she is.If you're looking for a cheerful, affectionate companion who gives the best kisses around, Sugar is ready to sweeten your life. ❤️Sugar was sponsored by Jody Baker “ The Property Toller”! Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! We welcome adopters from out of state to apply! _When it comes to our pets, we're all-inclusive! Plan a visit with the source organization
Once you’re ready to adopt, head over to our Adoption Application to fill out and submit the form. Once our Adoption Team has reviewed and approved your application, we will give you a call to schedule an appointment with the pet! When you arrive at ACSKC, you will be greeted by our Adoption Coordinator and taken to meet the pet, either in our Meet and Greet Room or one of the play yards. If you already have pets in the home, you may be asked to bring them with you for a meet and greet to ensure they will get along in the home (this typically only applies to dogs). If you and our Adoption Coordinator feel like it is a good match, we will then finalize the paperwork and send you home with a bag of goodies, including our “Welcoming Your New Pet Home Guide,” toys, treats and a sample bag of their pet food. If it is not a good match, you are welcome to meet the other available pets in the shelter. Your approved application will be kept on file for 90 days, so you’re encouraged to take your time before making a decision!
