In the shelter’s words
Hi, I'm Lena. I'm a shy girl and still learning that the world isn't such a scary place. Humans make me nervous and when someone approaches me, my first instinct is to cower down and make myself as small as possible.Every day, I'm discovering that maybe the world isn't as frightening as I thought. I've also learned that having another dog around makes things a little easier (the volunteers here call it "borrowing confidence"). I enjoy their company, and having a canine friend helps me feel a little braver. Slowly but surely, my confidence is growing.I know I'm not the kind of dog who will run into your arms the moment we meet. I might need some extra time, patience, and reassurance. But I hope someone out there will see past my fear and recognize the sweet girl underneath it all. Mountainair, NM Pit Bull Mix Female, pending spay appointment ~1 year old Adoption fee $100I've spent so much time living in fear. Now I'm hoping someone will be patient and gentle with me. Apply now!
