In the shelter’s words

Best Match : Seeking an adopter with some experience Will be most comfortable in a quiet adult only home May be ok with other cats Currently on daily medication for asthma Needs to be indoor only Don’t let his age fool you – Spencer is still a playful, energetic cat with plenty of love to give! This sweet senior boy is looking for a comfortable home where he can spend his golden years being doted upon, just as he deserves. Of all his toys, Spencer loves his feather wand toy the most. He’ll chase after it and even occasionally leap high into the air to catch it. He enjoys entertaining himself with springs, other toys, and even his own tail at times. Spencer also loves gazing out the window to see what’s happening in the neighborhood and seems curious about the world beyond his foster’s apartment. Spencer can sometimes become a little overstimulated during petting and give a little nip to let you know he’s had enough, so learning to read his body language and respect his boundaries will help him feel comfortable. And every once in a while, something spooks him, seemingly out of nowhere, and he’ll retreat to a hiding spot for a little while. He usually feels better and reemerges after no more than an hour. Spencer does have some medical needs his adopter needs to be aware of. He has asthma and he’s currently working on inhaler training in the hope that an inhaler will help manage it. If you haven’t used an inhaler with a cat before, we’re happy to show you how. Spencer has had some big heartbreaks and losses in his life, but he’s made tremendous progress since then and has blossomed into a very sweet cat with a big heart and a goofy side. We would love for him to find a home that will make his next chapter a happy one. Could that be with you? Spencer is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and FeLV/FIV negative.
