May 2026: Hey frens! I moved out of my foster dad's place and have a foster mom now who travels much less. I participated in Mickaboo's virtual adoption fair, and you can watch my video here . Hi, I'm Spunk, a relatively small lilac crown amazon in my 20s who's been given a second chance, possibly a third or more, through Mickaboo. I came in via a shelter, via by a man, but I was recognized at the Bird Hotel as having vacationed there in the past via a woman. I'm not saying more about that, though I sure am a talkative fellow when I feel like it, as well as quite the singer. The vet says I can't fly and may have a past wing injury, so my small stature may reflect a restricted ability to build up my pecs. I am eating my pelleted diet well and of course all the treats. We're still working on veggies, but I like peppers and yam. So here's the deal: I've bounced around a lot, and my foster dad travels, and each time I'm in a new place, I have to start over building trust, AGAIN. So I want to be sweet, and I sure do love my head scratches, but I can be leery about doing all the things for new people. My foster dad can get me to the shower and get my weight and move me around and shoulder me, and he's dared to call me nippy. Well, you try being me. At least he says I have been getting less nippy with time, which is true! I just need a bit of time to settle in and blossom. I am showing that I can do this. Since I'm adorably talkative and I sing, but I'm not a screamer and not too loud, I think you should take me home and be my forever person or family. Don't you? I am healthy and physically perfect except for my wing and flight issue. October 2025 Update: I like napping on my female caretaker's shoulder. I'm so sweet. I also say: I love you, Are you a good boy?, Fresh water for you, Lawyer can't help you! and a few other things. I'm afraid of big dogs. Adopt me!
