In the shelter’s words

DELI Breed: Australian Kelpie Mix Birthday: 7/25/2024 Weight: 40 pounds Health: Healthy, vaccinated and spayed Personality Deli is a bright, spirited young girl who’s eager to experience everything the world has to offer. She’s highly intelligent and quick to learn, making her a fantastic candidate for advanced training, agility courses, or interactive games that challenge her mind. Deli thrives on human connection—she’ll stick by your side during hikes, trot happily on neighborhood walks, and settle in for cuddles at the end of the day. She’s alert and curious, often tilting her head when you talk to her like she’s trying to understand every word. While she has an independent streak, Deli is also deeply affectionate and loves feeling part of a family unit. With the right environment, she will blossom into a loyal and engaging lifelong companion. Breed Information Australian Kelpies are known for their agility, stamina, and intelligence. They were originally bred as working dogs and need both mental and physical stimulation to stay balanced. As a mix, Deli may be slightly more adaptable than a purebred Kelpie but will still benefit from regular exercise and purposeful activities. ‍♀️ Owner Responsibilities Provide daily physical activity and mental stimulation Continue socialization and training Offer love, consistency, and positive reinforcement Keep up with vet care, vaccinations, and grooming ⚠️ Things to Consider High-energy breed mix; not suited for low-activity households Needs a secure, fenced yard (not to be chained outside) Consider the adjustment period and training time Be prepared for financial responsibilities (vet, food, supplies) Check that your housing allows dogs of this size and breed Be aware of possible household allergies ❤️ Why Deli is an Excellent Choice Deli is a loyal and fun-loving companion for an active family or individual. Her intelligence and enthusiasm for life make her a joy to train and spend time with. She’ll thrive in a home that can match her energy and offer her love and purpose.
