Hi, I’m Henry! I’m a 1½-year-old big boy with an even bigger heart, and I’m looking for a loving home where I can settle in and feel safe. I’m a total sweetheart who starts purring as soon as the pets begin! New places can make me a little unsure at first, but with some time and patience, my affectionate side shines through. I would love a home with plenty of toys to chase, bat around, and keep me entertained. I came to the rescue with my dad, Oliver, and while we could find a home together, we’re also happy to find our own families. Whether I’m joining a home with Oliver or becoming your one and only, I can’t wait to find my special place to call home! Does Henry sound perfect for your home? There is no application fee. â Reference and Vet Check call veterinarian to verify that your current/previous pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and well cared for if you rent, weâll contact your landlord to confirm pet policies and any breed or size restrictions â Contact from an Adoption Counselor If your application appears to be a match, an adoption counselor will reach out to discuss the dog(s) youâre interested in Note: Due to high interest in some dogs, only selected applicants may be contacted. â Schedule a Meet & Greet When you're ready to proceed with a specific pup, an adoption counselor will work with you to schedule a Meet & Greet usually at the home where the dog is fostered. All household members must attend to meet the dog you're interested in. â Start the Sleepover Period After a successful Meet & Greet, youâll begin a minimum 7-day sleepover to ensure a good fit between you and the dog. â Finalize the Adoption or Return to Rochester Rascals If at any point itâs not the right match, you will return the dog to the foster home. If everyone in your family agrees to move forward with adoption, you'll: Receive a digital adoption contract via email. Complete the paperwork and submit payment. Receive a confirmation email and access the dogâs medical records. Note: adoption fees typically only cover about a third of the actual cost to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome the animals in our care
