Hi I'm Cass Elliot but everyone calls me Mama Cass. I am a petite brown tabby about two years old. I was brought in with two kittens. We were found in a horse barn in the country where people kept dropping off cats. Everyone thought I was the mama of the kittens. But I was NOT the mama. In fact, the veterinarian said I have never been a mama but the name stuck. I am a small kitty with a big personality. I like the other kitties and the volunteers but sometimes a girl needs her space. I can be a little sassy sometimes but I am worth the effort. The best things in life are worth a little effort. I love cat tree. I climb all over the cat trees and sometimes I get a little silly and hang upside down. It's a lot of fun. And I love good food - especially canned food. Come meet me and we can discuss our future together. I just know we will be the purrfect match. Please contact the shelter at hancockcountyhumanesociety@gmail.com to make an appointment to meet me.

An application is placed after a visit to the shelter to meet the pet. It is researched by a volunteer then must have the approval of two other Board members. An adopter agrees to spay/neuter any pet that isn't yet old enough to be fixed at time of adoption, and also agrees to return the pet to us at any time if for any reason they can no longer care for it. Regular Adoption Fee (kittens or adult cats less than 5 years old): $80. Two can be adopted together for a total fee of $120. Senior citizens (55 or older) may adopt a pet for a special fee of $50. Adult cats 5 years or older: $50. Special-needs cats (including FIV- or FeLeuk-positive): $25.
