In the shelter’s words
Meet Ruben – A Gentle Soul Ready to Blossom Ruben is a quiet, sweet, and shy guy with a heart full of love just waiting to be shared. He may take a little time to warm up, but with patience and gentle guidance, Ruben is sure to become a loyal, affectionate, and devoted companion. Ruben’s Highlights: Dog-Friendly: Ruben thrives with other dogs, and having a canine buddy can help him gain confidence and learn the ropes of life in a loving, playful way. Leash Skills: He walks nicely on a leash and enjoys relaxed strolls, making him a perfect companion for peaceful neighborhood walks. Playful Yet Calm: While he’s on the shy side, Ruben enjoys gentle play with other dogs and is just as content hanging out and relaxing with his humans. Affectionate: Ruben loves the occasional belly rub and petting session—and with time, he’ll show even more of his warm, loving personality. Ruben would thrive in a calm, patient home with a handler who understands shy dogs and is ready to help him feel safe, loved, and confident.
