*This animal is located at our same-day adoption center partner, St. Louis Park PetSmart. Please contact this location prior to visiting to ensure this animal is still available. A paper adoption application will be completed on site so please do not submit an online adoption application. For more information on adopting from one of our adoption center partners, please visit our Adoption Center Animals page. This rambunctious boy with a quiet side was named Sport after the character “Sportin’ Life from Porgy and Bess. Sport loves to grab your hand and wrestle with you but can be a little obstinate when it comes to sitting around and loving on you because he just wants to play. He loves to play with his brother, Lovey, in a rough and tumble way. He always wins at catching the bird flying through the air at the end of a stick and tries to walk away with birdie and the whole stick just as if he is hunting in the wild!! He is a wonderful sassy, playful, and sweet kitten. Sportin is from Houston, TX To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
