In the shelter’s words
Meet Tressel, a sweet senior pup ready to start the next chapter of his life with a loving family. With his gentle soul and wagging tail, he’s ready to fill your life with love, cuddles, and sunshine! Tressel loves meeting all humans and gets along great with kids. He embodies “man’s best friend” to the fullest and will make sure to always be by your side with lots of love. Tressel enjoys short games of fetch and carrying around stuffed toys on walks. He weighs around 53 lbs and is about 11 years old. He is house and crate trained. Could you be the one to give Tressel his forever home? Tressel is part of our Senior Soulmates Program. If he is adopted by a senior citizen, a generous donor will sponsor his adoption fee.

Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
