In the shelter’s words
Meet Blizzy! Blizzy is a handsome boy with a story that began on one of the coldest nights of the year. He was rescued during the NYC blizzard in February, after spending months wandering the neighborhood wearing an old, dirty, and torn collar. The kind people who had been feeding Blizzy outside knew that the approaching blizzard was too dangerous for him to face alone, so they reached out for help. Thankfully, Blizzy was brought safely indoors and is now enjoying the comfort of a loving foster home. Blizzy was already neutered when he was rescued, but sadly, no owner came forward to claim him. Whatever his past may have been, this sweet boy deserves a fresh start and a happily ever after of his own. Now that Blizzy is safe inside, he is ready for a forever home where he can leave his days of wandering behind and enjoy the simple comforts of a warm bed, full meals, and someone to love. Blizzy is healthy, vaccinated, and FIV and FeLV negative, and he is estimated to be approximately 5 years old. After everything Blizzy has been through, he is finally safe. Now all he needs is a loving family to make him feel truly home. To learn more or apply to adopt Blizzy, please email nycatcoaladopt@yahoo.com or call Joan at (718) 671-1695. An online adoption form is also available - click here to apply.

Plan a visit with the source organization
We wish to place cats only in secure, safe, stable, loving homes, and we are very careful in our review of the applications. Potential Pet-parents fill out an Adoption Application, we review the application, call the applicant, schedule a time for them to visit our cats. We check their references, call their veterinarian, and verify that their backup person who would take the cats if something happened to the adopter is on board. Then a Foster Agreement is completed. When all parties are happy, after about 2 weeks, we have the finalized Adoption Agreement sent to us.
